What are the types of cancer?
Cancer can be divided into solid tumours and liquid tumours. Liquid tumours are the cancer of the blood cells called leukaemia. Solid tumours involve solid organs such as the breasts, lungs, colon, liver etc. The most common solid cancers in males are lung cancer, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and stomach cancer. The most common types in females are breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, and cervical cancer.
The term ‘benign ‘ is used to describe a tumour that is non-cancerous. While ‘malignant’ is a term that is used to describe a cancerous tumour.
