7 Things You Should Know About The Best Heart Specialist Clinic in Singapore

1. We are a team of the best heart doctors, all with unique subspecialities

Our clinic is proud to offer a range of qualified staff, including four of the best heart doctors in Singapore. A cardiologist is a doctor who completes advanced training after medical school to specialize in heart health and medicine. At our clinic, we have the following heart doctors:

Dr. Reginald Liew, a senior consultant cardiologist with a special interest in cardiac arrhythmias and device implantation.

Dr. Rohit Khurana, a consultant cardiologist with a special interest in coronary artery disease and resistant hypertension and its treatment by catheter based interventions.

Dr. Michael MacDonald, a senior consultant cardiologist with expertise in heart failure and in the management of complex hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes.

And finally, Dr. Sriram Narayanan, a senior consultant vascular surgeon specialising in thoracic and abdominal aortic endovascular repairs, and carotid surgery.

You can choose which doctor you book in with. Feel free to ask our admin team for more information on availability.

2. We have 3 locations across Singapore

We have three separate locations available to our patients. These are:

Gleneagles Hospital: We have a heart specialist clinic on the fringe of Orchard Road. For a map, click here.

Mount Elizabeth Novena: This is a 1,100 sq ft facility near Orchard Road, offering advanced technology and expertise to ensure the best possible patient care. For a map, click here.

Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre: Our newest facility offers advanced treatment and access to state of the art technology in cardiological healthcare. For a map, click here.

3. We do heart surgery

Heart surgery is a major operation. Highly complex and intricate, heart surgery requires expertise that cannot be found in your average medical doctor. A heart surgeon trains for many, many years after completing medical school and often has their own set of subspecialties, making them highly qualified to oversee the procedure. At The Harley Street Heart and Vascular Center, we have an in-house surgeon who can perform minimally invasive and major heart surgeries at our hospital facility. 4. We offer a tele-consult

We understand you are busy. That’s why we offer a tele-consultation to many of our new patients. At a tele-consultation, you can meet with your cardiologist, explain your symptoms or concerns (if applicable) and future tests and screenings can be booked. A tele-consultation is quick to book, convenient to attend and saves you commuting costs or missing time off work. To enquire about booking a tele-consultation, click here. You can also download our tele-consult user guide here.

5. We offer four heart screening packages

We currently offer four separate cardiac screening packages. Cardiac screening is a set of tests to look at the function of your heart, even if you don’t have any adverse symptoms.

We offer the following:
  • General Medical Screening: body composition measurement, radiology investigations, cardiac investigations, pre screening consultation and examination and lab analysis.
  • Healthy Heart Screen: Pre screening consultation, lab analysis, body composition measurement and cardiac investigations.
  • Pre-Exercise Cardiac Screen: Pre-exercise cardiovascular questionnaire, review & examination by a cardiologist, resting ECG, exercise treadmill test and lipid panel.
  • Pre-Enlistment Screen: Pre screening consultation, lab analysis, cardiac investigations and body composition measurement.

6. We can see you at short notice

When it comes to a heart condition, time is against you. The earlier you seek help and get appropriate treatment, the more likely you are to fully recover. It is often the case that, by the time you experience symptoms, your condition is already fairly developed. So, at the first sign of a heart problem you must book an appointment. If your problem is a cardiac emergency, please call an ambulance. If not, we can try to see you within a matter of days and order appropriate tests and interventions in a timely manner.

7. We offer 17 cardiac tests - with more frequently being added

Cardiac investigations help us to diagnose patients suspected of having heart disease or with an increased risk of developing a cardiological issue in the future. The most common test we offer is the ECG or electrocardiogram. But on top of that, we offer 16 more tests so that we can pinpoint the exact cause of any abnormalities. These include a 24 holter monitor, a tilt table test, a coronary angiogram, a permanent pacemaker and 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. We keep up with the latest technological advances and add more approved tests as they arise in the future.

The Bottom Line

The best heart specialist clinic in Singapore offers a wide range of services spanning multiple cardiological and vascular conditions. If you are ever in doubt about whether your condition or symptoms is something we would treat, we welcome a discussion.
