Cardiac Screening (heart screening) identifies people who have evidence of heart disease (blockages in the arteries supplying the blood to the heart) and help to estimate the risk of a future heart attack.
Cardiac investigations often need to be performed in patients with symptoms suggestive of heart disease. Cardiac investigations may also be appropriate for people with no symptoms but who have risk factors for heart disease.
Sports cardiology is an advancing field that encompasses the care of athletes and active individuals with known or previously undiagnosed cardiovascular conditions.
“With people living longer, the quality of one’s physical and mental health becomes increasingly important. Having witnessed the devastating effects of chronic illnesses such as heart failure, stroke and dementia, I am keen to do my part to help reduce the impact of these conditions. Medical education for the public to promote a healthy lifestyle is an ongoing challenge which I continue to embark upon.”
“Since the start of my career, cardiovascular medicine and intervention has embraced innovation and the pace of progress in advancing heart health care for our patients has been huge, making it a truly exciting and privileged specialty to be practicing. With these learning challenges to take on, my enthusiasm and passion for cardiology has also grown and I believe continues to shape me as a person, both within and outside the clinic”
“We all desire to live a long, healthy and happy life. I view my job not only as being here to care for people with health problems, but to help people stay healthy so they can live their best lives with their families and friends”
“I feel extremely blessed to be able to provide heartfelt heartcare. The personal responsibility and the sacred relationship that comes with being someone’s physician has given me one of the strongest senses of purpose in my life. It continuously drives me to uphold the utmost standards in modern-day cardiology so that my patients can reap the most benefits. Health is truly our greatest gift”
“From treating scans and not people, from talking disease and not well-being, from patronizing and not supporting people in pain, from knowing all to being ready to learn, from making medicine just a profession and not a calling – may the Good Lord deliver us”.
